I am of slight build with small long bones. I tend to live in my head. I have high energy, and honestly I am prone to flit about, physically and mentally, versus staying steady and focused. Especially when I'm under stress.
Recently I realized that I am intuitively drawn to that which balances me. I should say that this attraction has always been the case, only my recognition of it is recent. Solid, stable, grounded, calm, with intensity of focus and purpose. Folks who are deep thinkers and are calm enough to formulate an express well their deep thoughts (yes...like my man, @Sean-King!) rather than getting lost in the distractions within their own minds.
This attraction isn’t just to people...I am drawn to naturally forming large weighty stabile objects like rocks and boulders or even being in a cave! I crave heavy bass and deep voices in my music. (Joywave's Destruction or Ja Rule's...anything 😜) That tone...that resonance satisfies something in me! It’s like a sound bath. I like a lot of pressure in a massage. I like to be sat upon when I'm in child's pose in yoga class. The weight of another on me is comforting!
You see I need heavy. Heavy balances me. While light and flitting about is my nature and must be expressed, I also need periods around something or someone who's presence is heavy. Otherwise my lightness can become imbalanced.
These are just my personal observances. I'm not preaching from any particular religion or philosophy that I believe in, but this does jive with and make sense if you study ayurveda. Ayurveda is an ancient medicine system developed in India thousands of years ago. It describes 3 basic energy types (vata, pitta, and kapha) that exist within all beings with one usually presents as most dominant, but ultimately health comes from balancing the three. I am dominated by the vata dosha (light, airy, cold, dry) and to be balanced we need warm solid moist foods. Bowls of brown rice with Rich Fatty coconut oil and grounding sweet root vegetables is my ultimate comfort food. Warm clothing as we tend to be cold nature. Our body heat tends to escape and flit it way faster than those dosha types which are hotter (pitta) and heavier (kapha.)
Any other Steemers our there who have looked into Ayurveda?
What energies do you crave to balance your own nature?
I'm ever curious ;)
Cindy
Hey Cindy! My folks prefer Ayurvedic remedies as much as possible. Personally due to differing interests I haven't really looked into Ayurvedic philosophy in detail as such but it's always around me in my city of Mangalore.
Quite like yourself I enjoy brown rice and food items made using Coconut oil (it's quite commonly used in Southern-India) and a hard pressure during massages.
I think i'm going to go and attend that Yoga class once or twice in the week in my gym that I've been dreading about since I have poor flexibility. You make it look really easy from your other pics that Sean has taken! :P

Nice post Cindy! I don't know much about Ayurveda but think it's interesting :) But I know I have to be close to nature, to walk in the forrest or by the sea. How do you know what's your dominant energy type?
