We have three types of brain in action while thinking.
- Emotional mind
- Rational mind
- Wise mind
And there is a relation between them known as Dialectical-Behavior-Therapy-DBT , explained in the following image.
Our mind generally react very actively to our emotional part of mind's thinking hence tend to make worse decision than otherwise it can make . Reason for this is that it takes very little effort by mind to frame a perception of something than analysing the perception. We generally protest on streets when some recent event had happened but forget over just a little after and nothing is learned from history. To change this always question your intuition when faced with emotions and try to understand balanced perspective of the world.
Rational mind is what shaped the human kind's material progress. This is effortful and statistical and based on logic that's why many people don't want to engage with it.
Wise mind is what we have to make our brains too. You can not always make rational decision in the real world otherwise you will end up being so rude according to peoples and you will face decision making problems in your life because many events and situations are not out there according to your calculations. So adding a little bit of emotion with rational mind will give you an edge to understand other peoples perspective and making your decision making fast. Once great British economist John Maynard Keynes said- "When facts change I change my mind" , This is very true reflection of wise human mind.
