Three Things of Daily Gratitude 5/2/18

Inspired by my post yesterday on overcoming envy, I've decided to start a daily series of things I'm grateful for

One of the best antidotes to any negative emotion is to replace this feeling with something that uplifts instead of drags us down. A terrific strategy to employ is to remind ourselves of all the things we are grateful for and on a daily basis.

I'm going to start a daily series of things I'm grateful for as a way to increase my sense of appreciation for the things in my life. I believe fostering an attitude that gives thanks is essential to developing a sense of satisfaction in life, as it places our internal attitude above external factors outside of our control.

If you'd like to participate in this series, please feel free to join in with your own daily reminders of things you are grateful for. These don't have to necessarily be the most important things in your life, as the small aspects of our life can make a world of difference.

1. Progress in my physical health

Last summer, I was stuck in a rut, feeling down and slightly depressed about my situation. In order to move beyond this feeling, I began consuming as much Tony Robbins' material as possible, as his film 'I am Not Your Guru' introduced me to the fact that he is much more than a positive thinker.

One of the things that struck me most from his lectures was his statement that motion creates emotion, and if you are feeling sad you should...MOVE! Run, swim, play a sport, do anything that gets your heart rate up. He discussed how when he was in a down period, he committed himself to working out every single day and did so for a full year.

I decided to give it a try and began running every day and doing strength training. I was amazed at how much of a difference this made in my overall health, as I saw improvements beyond the physical but also in the mental and spiritual aspects of my health as well. I now regularly go to the gym and at 31 years old I feel I am close to being in the best shape of my life.

2. @tribesteemup and @kennyskitchen

Recently, I was selected for the curation project @tribesteemup, which @kennyskitchen created to help support steemit conscious content creators. This has been an immense help to both my post payouts as well as my motivation to continue creating content.

I am also incredibly grateful that @adamkokesh recently started following the curation trail, as this has been a major boost to all of those who are a part of @tribesteemup. Kenny, Adam, and all others who are delegating SP to this project, your support is greatly appreciated and I am humbled to be a part of this project.

3. More rain in Colorado today

This is somewhat of a double-edged sword. I am a gardener whose work is often dependent on the weather. Today I was called off of work, which has happened at least once every week since the start of the season, which certainly affects my paycheck.

But in the grand scheme of things I am very grateful for the precipitation we have received this spring, as this winter was incredibly dry. Colorado gets a majority of its water from snowfall, so having a dry winter can spell serious trouble come summer time, including drought and wildfires.

Though having a reduced paycheck isn't pleasant, I'd much rather we continue to receive plenty of rainfall to make up for the lack of snow.

That's it for my three things of gratitude. Please feel free to share yours in the comments below or create your own post if you're feeling inspired.

Being grateful for small things gives one a wonderful feeling even though the things are very tiny. You hv explained it beautifully by giving yr own examples. When you are grateful for what you got, you hv nothing to complain about😊 and when nothing to complain about, life itself becomes happyisn’t it amazing❤️

Sir your philosophy articles are so motivate me i can't express. thank you so much sir for amazing motivation article for daily life.☺

We often forget to show gratitude to the things that we have in life. It is because we are pursuing new things which we think are better than the last. Have a nice day. God Bless
