For many, their initial thoughts on reading the title might be ……..REALLY?????
The thing is, that experiencing a life altering trauma can happen to any single one us.
As a Homeopath, I'm always looking at the whole person, all aspects of them. Patients managing PTSD talk about how challenging it is living with the diagnosis and its all-consuming symptoms.
The crippling anxiety that can stop people in their tracks, preventing them from living a functioning day-to-day existence. Or waking up in the night screaming in terror from nightmares. Many would tell you about the extreme difficulties in just getting out the front door, walking down the street or going about their day to day business because of the state of hyper-vigilance they sometimes exist in. Let alone “triggers” they encounter which can bring about states of fear. Even forming relationships and friendships can be prove to be tricky.
There’s always got to be an opposite, the yin and the yang. They say, there can’t be darkness without light?
So as we know living with PTSD can wreak havoc with lives and can make you feel like you’re going crazy! But there can be and there is a POSITIVE side!
- Gaining a deeper understanding and awareness of yourself, reconnecting with yourself mentally,
psychologically, emotionally and physically in a way you may never have even considered before.
- Having a deeper empathy and compassion for others.
- Creating healthy self care, knowing what you need to help manage and heal from PTSD and ensuring that
it’s in place around you.
- Exploring new coping skills and tools that may of previously been alien, meditation, mindfulness, natural
alternatives to conventional treatment and meds such as homeopathy.
- Having to overcome negative thinking and behaviors and replacing them with positive healing beliefs and
healthy coping strategies. Living life with gratitude
- Hyper-vigilance, having hyper awareness of all surroundings in seconds of entering a room.
- Channeling adrenaline into positive things, fitness , work. ·
- Learning to trust in life again, with a new, deeper awareness of yourself and what and who you need to
have in your life, Creating a positive circle of people, activities and things that encourage your healing and
have a positive effect on you and your well-being!
Finally seeing the light at the end of a very long tunnel on the healing journey from PTSD , with new found strength and resilience is known as post-traumatic growth. For many, at times it seems the impossible but slowly and surely things do move forward and healing can happen.

I like the idea of looking for the positive in every challenge we are faced with.
I believe that darkness is the absence of light.
So I think what you’re saying is that with homeopathy you can help to bring back the light into the life of these people. Hurray to that 👏👏
