Years and years in highschool we were tortured by a lot of teachers, humiliated in front of the entire class while trying to relay what “we’ve learned” by reciting stuff word for word.
Many of the teachers, depressed, angry, vindictive, had to vent their frustrations on the students (sometkmes even to retain peace and control in class)
But what i disliked the most was that it was such a one way affair. You’re not talking about what you learned with someone. You’re being interrogated and you mainly have to drone on and on, on your own.
Public speaking without a back and fourth feels like that. There’s an inherent unnatural aspect in it that I believe shouldn’t be overly well mastered.
Props to the cool teachers that survived the onslaught with their psyches intact
