I'm watching my lefty friends and acquaintances make absolute and utter fools of themselves, and be racist to boot.
Dr Jerome Adams, MPH (a man who has devoted his life to public health) accepted an invitation to join the Trump administration in order to try to make "change from within", and ended up doing his best to steer an absolutely lunatic administration through two public health crises (the twin pandemics of opioids and COVID-19). Dr Adams is (of course) pro-vaccination, pro-masking, and vocally in favor of the normal precautions that we should pay attention to during a pandemic. If you are wishing death on either Dr. Adams or his wife, show yourself the door. Now.
Dr. Joseph Lapado is an entirely different person. He is the anti-vax, anti-mask, psudeo-scientific quack that Ron Desantis appointed to be the surgeon general of Florida.
Lapado and Adams are two completely different men, unaffiliated in any way.
The only thing they have in common is that they are black.
Apparently my acquaintances on the left have decided that now is the appropriate time for Dr. Adams "15 minutes of hate" while his wife is fighting metastatic melanoma. (And the death-wishes for his wife are absolutely vile and disgusting)
Dr. Adams is not your enemy. Dr. Fauci is not your enemy. The educated, dedicated public health officials that tried to bring some sort of sane, scientific influence to a batshit administration are not your enemy.
Save it for the nazis.
There are days when the mobs on the right and the left are indistinguishable.
Those of you that are heaping hatred on this man and his desperately ill wife... are everything the right claims you are.
