Greetings fellow indie gaming community,
Welcome to our first quarterly newsletter of 2024! It’s been an action-packed start to the year here at Catoptric Games, filled with exciting game releases, engaging events, successful marketing campaigns, and a bunch of demos that kept us on our toes. Let’s dive into the highlights together!
What’s Been Cooking?
Next in Game Delivers: We kicked off the year by launching 3 games under our subsidiary publishing brand, Next in Game. Two of these games, Ojiv and Hailing from the Abyss, hit early access, while Agent in Depth made its full-release debut. Did you know, that Hailing from the Abyss was developed by a team from South Korea, while the other two were crafted by teams from Turkey?
Toy Shire Takes the Spotlight: February saw the historical rise of Toy Shire, one of the most anticipated games of the year. Our marketing efforts were on fire! We first participated in Next Fest February Edition, then some famous gaming influencers like Real Civil Engineer, Blitz, and BaronVonGames played our game and we’ve been featured on top gaming sites like PCGamer and GameSpark. The result? Over 50,000 wishlists and a top spot on the Steam New & Trending list!

Andarin Weppes on the Horizon: Another gem, Andarin Weppes, also showcased at Next Fest and is gearing up for release soon. If you’re a fan of mind-boggling puzzle games, get ready to be hooked!
Awards and Nominations: Our games continue to make waves in the gaming world! Remember Pile Up!, the game that snagged two shiny trophies at Game Connection Europe back in 2023? Well, it’s still making headlines. This time, it received nominations for ‘Best Student Game’ and ‘Audience Award’ at the Independent Games Festival during GDC.

More Events: We love events, can you tell? Besides attending, we also enjoy hosting them! In January, for the 3rd consecutive year, we hosted Global Game Jam in Izmir. 70 individuals participated, and by the end of the event, they had developed 12 awesome games!

Stats (My Favorite Section): Who doesn’t love stats, right? In Q1 2024, Catoptric Games tried out a whopping 273 new demos! Not to mention, we provided detailed feedback to many teams and conducted an additional in-depth market and price analysis for 10 of them. Plus on social media, we created 119 vertical videos for our partner teams.
Big Game Updates: Castle of Alchemists treated players to a massive tower update in February, while Pile Up! introduced more camera controls and a chill mode in its winter update.

Final Thoughts:
Phew! That was quite the roundup, wasn’t it? I don’t know about you, but I need a breather after all that excitement. But fear not, there’s plenty more where that came from! Stay tuned for more games, events, and surprises in our next quarterly report!
Until then, happy gaming!
