Palm Springs, CA - When there's no money and no power for a University ravaged by a hurricane, how do you rebuild? Why, by making your own money, of course! Along that line, a not-for-profit group called MiningCamp is organizing a cryptocurrency cause to build a solar-powered crypto mining rig for software engineering students at the Universidad Puerto Rico.
Said MiningCamp organizer Frank Pournelle, "John Kennedy proposed that the Peace Corp teach a man to fish in order to feed them for a lifetime. Well, the students of Puerto Rico need a new virtual boat and some fishing polls. We call upon the attendees of Puerto Crypto to join us in donating cryptocurrency mining equipment and solar power accessories to the Software Engineer Students at the University of Puerto Rico. And we call upon the Elite Members of the Global Crypto Community to deliver in time for the Puerto Crypto meeting.
Puerto Crypto is held Mar 14-16 at the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel in conjunction with the Puerto Rico Department of Economic Development and the Governor's Office. Featured speakers and attendees include the Elite Members of the Global Crypto Community. It's a non-profit event. 100% of the profits go to Puerto Rico hurricane efforts.
As part of this event, MiningCamp is organizing a high profile donation from several companies. They are seeking donations of solar equipment, ALT COIN and Cryptocurrency Mining hardware, and related goods to be shipped ahead of the PuertoCrypto conference.
"We think this could be a great uplifting news story for Universidad de Puerto Rico. In the right hands, UPR Software Students would gain hands-on experience in blockchain technology and the cryptocurrency marketplace."
