This beach house in Puerto Rico survived a hurricane, and I have no idea how.

Last night there was a storm here, I woke up to it in the middle of the night. It felt like the world was ending. Turns out it was just an average rainy night here in the Caribbean. My house was shaking and all I heard was stuff being thrown around outside and waves crashing.

I cannot imagine what a full blown hurricane would be like. Probably rather terrifying I’m sure. Especially in this house that I’m staying in, I’m not so sure how it even survived the last major one. It is still here though, and I am staying in it currently. So it must be much stronger than it looks.

I admire Palm Trees because it is one that survives even the worst hurricane. They have strong roots regardless of how wet or dry the soil is.

That is a very wise comment 🧐

Welcome to the Caribbean! ;)

I can't make it out from this pic... is the roof wooden or slab, @daltono? The trees are all leaning.. they've been through tough weather.

Thank you!
