YouAreHOPE is pleased to bring the news that we were able to order and priority ship approximately TEN THOUSAND SEEDS to hurricane ravaged PUERTO RICO!

These are two orders of 5000 seeds each, which are both comprised of 30 kinds of greens, herbs and vegetables, to Puerto Rico to meet the needs and requests of people there affected by the recent devastating hurricane which destroyed a large part of Western Puerto Rico and much of the rest of Puerto Rico as well.

The great part of what we are doing here is how fast and transparently we can do it.

I was idling in the Puerto Rico Teams channel in the Coalition of Causes area on the YouAreHOPE chat server and chatting with @nichi and @topkpop last night. @nichi was telling us about the tremendous amount of work she has been doing to support shipping tons of supplies and much needed fundamentals to hurricane ravaged Puerto Rico in their time of this nation wide emergency there.

@Nichi is getting the goods to Puerto Rico!

@Nichi mentioned being unable to quickly source much requested, much needed heirloom, organic seeds to ship over with the next round of supplies going out. Heirloom and organic are important because most commercial seeds are treated genetically not to reseed or grow in future generations. Heirloom seeds can reproduce and increase your seed stock and scale year after year along side your food harvest.

I knew where to get them, because I am a bit of an emergency prepper type who spent the last 5 years solo homesteading an off grid working 18 acre livestock farm and garden, and so I keep some various supplies of my own on hand and within a few minutes, I had ordered a couple of bulk emergency variety seed kits from my favorite small business, family owned supplier via Paypal and shipped them priority to @Nichi to rush their arrival.

The YouAreHOPE Foundation was able to quickly respond to this need instantly thanks to donations from generous steem community members. The needs were discovered, shared and met 100% by steemitizens, who will deliver the seeds and other goods to Puerto Rico and distribute them first hand with the help of the rest of their non-steem based volunteers and other donors.

We are so pleased to be able to start making a real difference and having a real impact in our initiatives which currently run simultaneously in Venezuela, Philippines, Nigeria, and now Puerto Rico as well.

To think that YouAreHOPE is not even fully 2 months old yet, just about 6 weeks, is overwhelming. Thank you all for your support as we launch the worlds first block chain based, fully transparent, world wide humanitarian aid foundation. Made possible entirely by you. YOU! YouAreHOPE!

That's all there is to say about that! It's on all of us, and up to all of you, to help make a difference in another person's life as they face tragic conditions beyond their control around the world we all live on together and share.

It's the holiday season, a time of giving. Can you spare an SBD per day like @pennsif does for half a dozen or so steem based charitable concerns? Or maybe you can delegate some funds to us for a while, to help curate the reports coming in from the field, and to support and give back to our donors and other volunteer assistance along the way.
