Blockchain is technology for creating permanent, secure digital recordings that don’t rely on any single person or group. Blockchains can record any information, though the first example was created to record bitcoin transactions.
Imagine the blockchain as a book of records. Each page in that book, is a block, and can record anything. Blocks are created one after the other, chained to each other creating what we know as the blockchain.
Multiple blockchain records are maintained simultaneously by many of unrelated individuals and their computers, making it cloud storage on steroids. Updates are seen immediately and manipulation is extremely difficult/impossible. This positive quality known of many people keeping their own copies of the blockchain is known as “distributed”.
There are hundreds of blockchains created by many groups to records all sorts of information including art, medical records, computer information and much more.
But if a blockchain is not distributed among many individuals and instead run by one government, organization, group or person, than it is not at a blockchain at all. A centralized system like that is simply a database.
Today I would like to tell you about a project called Pulse Network, which aims to revolutionize the medicine world by giving people the opportunity to receive better and more affordable medical services, thanks to the advances of blockchain and artificial intelligence. Undoubtedly, you may ask yourself a question: what have these technologies to do with medicine? This is what we will consider in this article.
Pulse Network is creating a reliable medical data repository and sharing platform to ensure seamless information flow in medical care, linking knowledge to expertise. They are building the infrastructure for state-of-the-art, AI enabled diagnostic and treatment capabilities for people everywhere, unconstrained by the limitations of the medical facilities of their locality.
The project is committed to improving the provision of medical care by unshackling information flow across the industry. In line with this commitment, Pulse Network will facilitate the collection of a wide range of data like electronic medical records, biometric data and sensor data among others to establish the first truly global medical data repository. The platform will also facilitate easy dissemination of the data to ensure doctors administer the best treatment options.
The Pulse Network solution may seem like a simple undertaking but it is a herculean task that players in the medical field have not been able to achieve to date. But, if there is one organisation you can bet on to pursue and complete such a daunting mission it is the business behind the Pulse Network, JPMedsn.
JPMedsn was launched in 2012 and since then the business has quickly built a reputation for being highly innovative. This is evidenced by a number of patents held by the company, some of which are listed on Pulse Network Website. They are now yet again summoning their creativity to develop the appropriate infrastructure for bringing reliable data to medical care through these two main products: Pulse Records (EMR) and Puls Pocket (Personal).
Pulse Records (EMR) is a unique database of diagnostic data, treatment guidelines, recommended prescriptions and the latest pharmaceutical information provided to healthcare practitioners on the Pulse Records (EMR) platform. Thus, this patented data entry technology dramatically reduces the time it takes physicians to create medical records.
Pocket Pulse (Personal) collects individual health, lifestyle and medical history data and gives the patient full control over this data. Thus, a person can use Pocket Pulse to transfer their medical history to a new attending physician.
How It Works?
Pulse will use a patented data collection software to gather medical care data from clinics, hospitals, practitioners, and even mail health checks to create a robust information bank. The proprietary software will be installed in numerous health provision facilities to enable easy capture of data and while anonymizing the users and patients identity. This will allow secure storage and sharing of the data throughout the medical field in the world.
In addition, the application will collect data from top medical research and development institutes, specialized treatment centers and laboratories around the globe to ensure new inventions are made accessible on the platform. The software will convert all the received data into common readable format and translate it into multiple languages to widen the reach and its impacts. Users will also be encouraged to share their medical history and records as Pulse aims to accumulate a treasure trove of useful medical information.
The easy dissemination of the aggregated data will be quite useful to medical experts as they get access to new knowledge, diagnoses, prescriptions, therapies and treatments. By using Pulse, practitioners can quickly bridge the gap especially for unique conditions and areas where they have insufficient expertise.
Most importantly, Pulse Network will improve the flow of information that will greatly benefit developing countries and other marginalised regions. They are usually most ravaged by diseases yet often the last to get advanced medical care and knowledge on how to handle such pandemics. Pulse will break down the existing barriers by accelerating the dissemination of knowledge and inventions to improve healthcare for all.
About The Pulse Poket App
The Pulse Network team takes the implementation of their product very seriously in order to achieve the maximum distribution of their product and thereby help to improve health of as many people as possible. Therefore, the process of using Pulse Network products should be extremely convenient and understandable.
The Pulse Network will have its own mobile application called Pulse Poket, which will combine all the functions described above. Among other things, this application will also function as a crypto wallet, in which users will be able to store internal Pulse Network tokens and later spend them on various non-insurance medical services, for example, sending blood for laboratory analysis, and so on.
An important point that the creators of the Pulse Network note on their website is that the Pulse Poket app will be multilingual, which will allow people from all over the world to use it without any problems.
Pulse now uses the Polkadot ecosystem which serves to provide capabilities, running parallel chains with each transaction being processed in parallel allowing for more efficient scalability. with the Polkadot ecosystem, security is centralized within the network, meaning that individual chains can take advantage of collective security without having to start from scratch to gain traction and trust. There will be greater efficiency compared to other consensus mechanisms.
About The Total Supply of Pulse
The ideal staking ratio in Polkadot is 50%. They have a mechanism to bring the staking ratio close to 50% (If the staking ratio is less or more than 50% then the inflation reward must be shared by validators with the treasury). Pulse uses that as a benchmark and apply the same 50% staking ratio to PULSE.
Investor (Personal Selling) - 20% - 20% of this will be awarded at the time of listing. the 80% balance will be given linearly over the next 12 months.
Founders - 10% - The full amount will be given after 12 months
Treasury - 15% - This will be used for staking at the initial stage of securing the network
Development Fund - 15% - This will be allocated for Credit Increase Proposals (PIP)
Community - 20% - PULSE will be sent to users for completing certain tasks.
(walking 10,000 steps a day, climbing 20 steps, etc.). This will incentivize users to link their health tracker data to the PULSA wallet.
Marketing Budget - 20%
