The sin in the Bible: I will choose their punishment and I will bring terror upon them, because I called and no one answered. Isaiah 66:4

The spiritual writings of Isaiah have had a deep echo in the Bible after the death of the prophet, even Jesus mentioned thoughts of this great prophet.
And the problem of evil, along with his prophecies about the reestablishment of Israel and the birth of Jesus, was one of the most deeply studied topics in his book. Like all the prophets, Isaiah warned that sin, that is, the practice of error, separates men from God; the Lord by his perfection, God is the wisdom itself, rejects selfishness and passions such as hatred or envy: "But your iniquities have separated you from God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear", Isaiah 59:2.
Just as God rejected Cain's offering because Cain's heart had turned away from wisdom, God also rejected the worship that was given to him in the kingdom of Judah because the law had been transformed into a cult of masks and appearances; and thus, the destruction of Jerusalem by the Babylonian empire was near.
Beyond any calculation to avoid misfortunes and take advantage of momentary situations, the path of sin is in the long term a winding path full of destructive unforeseen events. Only the path of righteousness and the fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion), like the dawn that ends in a beautiful noon, is the path that truly blesses and assures the life of man.
This is why the prophet Isaiah wrote in brief and wise words how God was displeased with Judah, and so the Lord abandoned them to their own errors and passions, because the law of sowing and reaping is inevitable:
"So I will choose their punishment and I will bring terror upon them, because I called and no one answered, I spoke and no one listened. But they did evil in My sight and chose that in which I did not delight" Isaiah 66:4.
