For the apostle Paul, the Christian life had a profound practical meaning; and the apostle spoke about this new life in Christ in his Second Epistle to the Corinthians.
The first Christian community of Corinth welcomed the apostle with fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion, and equanimity) for more than a year on his second missionary journey, and for that reason, the apostle thanked the material goods that this spiritual community offered him with two affectionate letters where he explained to them the truth of the spiritual doctrine of the Kingdom of God, the dominion or empire of God's perfections.
And with these wise words, the apostle Paul referred in his Second Epistle to the Corinthians to that undeserved grace that calls men to repentance not according to the flesh but according to the spirit, and thus to the new life clothed in Jesus: "We appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain" 2 Corinthians 6:1.
And in this way, with the grace received through baptism, men can consider themselves dead to sin in order to accept that new life of righteousness ("Do to others what you would have them do to you" Matthew 7:12), which makes sin not a habit but the exception, the Christian life is a commitment to communion, the ethical or correct order of society.
And the apostle Paul went deeper into his thinking by teaching that every sincerely converted Christian is guided by the Holy Spirit and by that love that does not disappoint: "We prove ourselves by our purity, our understanding, our patience, our kindness, by the Holy Spirit within us, and by our sincere love" 2 Corinthians 6:6.
According to the apostle's thought, faith is the only path to beatitude and salvation.
