Qigong is the oldest and lesser known form of Traditional Chinese Medicine. More than 5,000 years ago the ancient Chinese masters of esoteric healing came to the understanding that everything is composed of the same energetic substance, which they called Qi.
These ancient masters observed that there is a oneness and wholeness in all existence and that everything is energetically interconnected as one body. Energy may appear to take on different forms yet intrinsically all things in the universe are woven together. Qi is vibrating in constant energetic motion within all things. It is the catalyst for everything to relate and interrelate within the universe. The laws of physics have now demonstrated that matter and energy are interchangeable and matter is another form of energy.
Energy is inherent in the living human body and the body is sustained by energy (Qi)
Qi is stored within the body in the form of energetic pools, creating the energetic matrix of the internal organs. From these internal pools, the body’s life force energy flows in the form of rivers and streams. These rivers and streams form the body’s vessels, channels and collateral systems, which are connected to all our internal organs.
Through observation and study, Qigong masters discovered that each internal organ has a different function and a different vibration. By tracing the energetic pathways of Qi through each internal organ and observing its affects on bodily functions, the Chinese developed the basic theories of TCM which inspired Qigong movements. We can heal ourselves through these simple yet profound movements and meditations.
TCM relies on the proper gathering, refinement and utilization of the body’s energy, which allows the internal organs to function in natural harmony. Qigong movements work with these energy flows to enable people disperse blockages and stagnation that restrict energy flow within our body/mind and spirit. We then do movements that bring in life force energy which promotes harmony and wellbeing in all aspects of our life!!! Qigong boosts our vitality while calming the mind.
An example of a Qigong Exercise for the Heart and it's amazing benefits.
Thanks for reading, more to come!
Hello aumsomg! This was a very well-written and motivational article about Qi. Actually, my cardiologist has suggested this heart exercise for my palpitation, but as the typically arrogant westerner that I am, I instantly rejected the idea and I rely exclusively on medication. Your article, however, has motivated me to give it a fair chance and try (you have a better way with words than my cardiologist, that's for sure). Balance and harmony is definitely what we all need in our life, especially us who suffer from minor arrhythmia. Thank you for the enlightenment :)))

Oh yes, Qigong has been called "Chinese Yoga", just as Yoga has been referred to as "Indian Qigong".

I have been thinking about practicing qigong for some time now. I always postpone it for some reason or other.
But i think this is a sign. So, I'm starting, this time for real.
Thank you very much for this.

Nice article but the best thing with QI cong is to practice it seriously and regularly ( possibly with Tai Chi) without asking you questions you don't have the true answers; and after sometime you will enjoye some kind of complete benefit.

I have attempted to practice the art of circulating CHI/Qigong. What I really needed was a teacher...a master to guide me. I believe it is a real energy. Upon attempting it one late night, I could not help but feel negative energy even a dark presence around me.
Ive read Brian Grey book on Iron Palm. In one chapter he told a story about a monk who was circulating the dragon's breath (Chi). He did it incorrectly and was found one morning in a his meditation pose, dead, with burst capillaries.
I had an interest in using the physical and not spiritual (Chi, Qigong) , bought some Dit da jow herbs to speed up the healing and trained my hands, wrist, and arm for constant impact. I did not have the discipline to continue long.
Nonetheless Oriental medicines do work.

@dadup I would highly recommend looking into Falun Gong aka Falun Dafa as a form of traditional Chinese Qigong but in my opionion it is far more advanced than what is currently out there in the public. In terms of a teacher/master to guide you, Master Li Hongzhi has placed all his teachings in easily accessbile books, audio lectures and exercise videos which are all free to access at www.falundafa.org. I wish you all the best. Please feel free to contact me if you require any assistance I am sure you will find this very fulfilling and exactly what you are looking for! :)
