Steemit is NOT about "QUALITY" it's about "POPULARITY" and it's about "CLASSISM"

Why do you think you have a reputation number next to your name? Do you think it shows how much quality content you've produced or brought to Steemit? Why are there three distinct classes of Steemian: Whale, Dolphin, Minnow?

Are you named a "Whale" because of how good your posts are? Did you think that Steemit is supposed to be a boutique instead of an open market? Are the posts in the Trending category really the "best quality" on Steemit?

Did you think that self voting was a mistake or an oversight? Do you think the upvote bots are ruining Steemit because of quality, or do you think they're ruining Steemit because of production?

Think you got a point here. But, let us just continue producing blogs with quality content whether we are rewarded or not.

Getting 1 $ is even very hard for me. Hahaha. But, Ill just be patient and continue posting.

Well I just upvoted your poetry. ;)

My gripe isn't that One has a difficult time making money here. I'm talking about a bigger picture here. It's my opinion that Steemit was designed to work this way on purpose, and that those who are complaining will see no changes made in their favor. You can be as patient as you like, but don't expect to be a "lucky winner" and quit your day job.

Oww, im sorry if I misinterpreted it or was very specific here. Thanks for the correction i really appreciate that.

I also didnt expect you to upvote my recent post, but for doing it, thank you pal.

Please don't take that personally or as a disparaging remark. I'm not referring to your personal blog: I'm saying that it's impossible to "make it" on Steemit with quality content alone. You must already have money and be an investor "whale".

I undestand @artopium now. I appreciate you for putting so much effort to make me understand fully. You are a great person.

Even if I make just a buck, I am making a buck more with my time then spent on FaceBoob.

What is hard, for me, is working hours on something and then the most eyes that can be coaxed to it are 3 or 4 or 5 and then it is gone.

A lot of effort is going into resteeming gimics and some of these posts get quite a bit of attention from minnows who are distressed to see their hard work go into the dead pool in hours.

I don't go to trending or hot feeds because they are distressing....I see some good stuff and a lot of not so good that has $100 worth of attention. I just look at the new feed in any tag to get a much better view of the quality of items posted on Steemit.

As a response to your comment I recommend you read my other post:

I think yes, it can be kind of a popularity contest but the curators only upvote and resteem quality content therefore it should encourage more people to create quality content.

Am thinking I should blog about this too... Hmmm.

That's what everyone thinks is happening. That is unfortunately not how Steemit is actually designed. What I'm pointing out in this post and the others with similar content is not my opinion. These are facts that I'm finding out about the intentions for Steemit.com set forth by the founders themselves. Steemit is not as advertised. However, I think some good can still come of it, but only when people realize that their Steemit woes are not by accident. Curators can upvote what they subjectively feel is "high quality" but we will not see this same "high quality content" appear in the Trending category for reasons I've already laid out.

Yeah, it's all got to do with those who deem whatever is high quality. They have their own standards of course. When we get to the top like them we can perhaps call the shots too and curate articles based on what we like or don't like.
