Comparison of QuarkChain Competitors

Achieving mass real-world adoption for blockchain technology, it needs to match or even exceed the throughput of up to 4,000 transaction per second (TPS) like current payment networks for example Visa or MasterCard. QuarkChain aims to solve this scalability issue through the ability of millions of transactions per second with a reshardable two layered high-throughput blockchain. This system would solve the scalability problem of on-chain transactions like other blockchains (for example Etherium and Bitcoin) and could be used in industries ranging banking to gaming and social media.

One of the core features of QuarkChain is the Anti-Centralized Horizontal Scalabitily Expansion that allows replacing a traditional super-full node to a cluster of multiple cheap nodes. Furthermore, Cross-shard transactions can be issued at any time, confirmed in minutes and increases linearly as the number of shards increase. The transaction from another blockchain can be implemented by converting the tokens by an adapter and then performing the transaction like a cross-shard transaction from QuarkChain side. Another way is to accommodate the other chain as a subchain ( or shard ) so that cross - chain becomes cross-chain transaction. In addition, QuarkChain has a smart wallet which stores cryptocurrencies from different shards – an easy and simple account management is possible.

There are many competitors proposing a solution to blockchain scalability including the likes of Nano, RChain, Zilliqa, Ethereum, Bitcoin and more. It is unlikely one blockchain will rule them all, however it is also just as unlikely that all of these projects achieve widespread adoption.

Here is a comparison of the most relevant competitors:

QuarkChain uses cross-chain transaction and maintain only one root chain. Another blockchain can be implemented in two ways, through cross-shard transactions or using the other blockchain as a subchain (or shard). So far, Zilliqa is the only blockchain with a working implementation of sharding which allows the platform to achieve TPS in the thousands. Sharding attempts to split the blockchain's data into more manageable parts, so that each node doesn’t have to validate all transactions. Ethereum is also actively researching on sharding and has sharding in its roadmap, scheduled to be implemented after the Casper hard fork.

All in all, high throughput blockchain ICOs are very excited to invest. Even though this project has high interest and potential. Analyses have shown that blockchain ICOs were the most profitable ICO category in 2018 so far. QuarkChain has strong competitors like Zilliqa, but nevertheless the technology will achieve millions of transactions per and could push mass real-world adoption for blockchain technology.
