Quarkchain: A New Generation of High-Capacity Blockchain

Quarkchain is a leading contender for the number 1 spot in the high performance blockchain arena. Their aim is go upto 1 million transactions per second, using a unique sharding solution consisting of two layers: the sharding layer responsible for high throughput and the root layer responsible for confirming the transactions that take place across the network.

It is with this two-prong approach that Quarkchain seeks to solve the need for blockchain scalability without sacrificing decentralization and security. Jotted below are the salient features of the blockchain:

• Supports the Ethereum Virtual Machine for smart-contracts, meaning that Dapps built on Ethereum can be easily deployed on the Quarkchain blockchain once the Mainnet goes live in Q4 2018.
• Double-Spending attacks are prevented by dedicating 50 % or more hashing power to the root layer.
• Mining can be done through GPU.
• Cross-shard transactions enabled.
• Scalability increases with total no. of nodes.

• Expert in scalability. He was a key developer in attaining 10M IOPS (Input/Output Operations Per Second) with clustering for Dell EMC and more recently, 10M TPS as a member of the development team for the real-time infrastructure at Facebook.
• Stints in top Fortune 500 companies: Facebook, Dell, Google.
• PhD in Electrical and Computer engineering for Georgia University

Zhaoguang Wang: Software Engineer

• More than 6 years’ experience working as a Back-end engineer on large complex distributed systems.
• 7 years’ experience in software engineering with tech giants such as Facebook, Instagram, and Google.
  Yaodong Yang : Research Scientist
• Chairman of Education at Xi’an Jiaotong University, Frontier Institute of Science and Technology.
  Yaodong has authorized 50+ papers in peer reviewed journals and has over 600 citations in his name.

Anturine Xiang : Marketing and Community

• Anturine has 6+ years experience within finance and technology at Wall Street and Silicon Valley
• Key Roles as Lead Platform Analytics at Wish, Business Development and Marketing at Beepi, Consumer Marketing and Analytics at LinkedIn.
• They also have 2 other core team members 6 advisors including Bill Moore, Chief Engineer for Storage at Sun Microsystems, Arun G. Phadke, Virginia Tech Professor, Zhiyun Qian, cyber security expert, among others.
