Just like the fundamental constituent of matter — Quark, there is also fundamental constituent of blockchain architecture — QuarkChain.

What is so charming about QuarkChain?

QuarkChain aims to provide highly scalable, decentralized and secure blockchain to deliver 1,000,000 transactions per second using a two-layered blockchain system.

Two main layers are:

Sharding layer — represents ledger, performs transactions and records results.

Root layer — confirms the result of the transactions from ledger and mines the block.

QuarkChain platform will enable nodes and clusters of nodes running as a super-full node enabling the horizontal scalability and strong decentralization. This will provide a competitive edge in mining for smaller miners.

QuarkChain will support smart contracts integrated with Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). This will allow developers to easily deploy dApps built on EVM onto QuarkChain platform bringing crypto to wider mainstream audience.

Mobile DApps (DApps2go)

If you still didn’t fall for QuarkChain’s charm, the project has robust infrastructure to fully support mobile DApps (DApps2go). They believe that decentralized applications build on mobile devices are more applicable based on the fact that 4.5 billion people are using mobile phones.

But they will not stop here. Using QuarkChain’s high transaction processing capability, developers and product managers can test and deploy their own products on the main-net to help them validate their ideas quickly.

IoT, AI and Big Data

We are not done with flavors of QuarkChain.

Only small percentage of data gathered in one industrial site is ever analyzed. Yet, smart devices could benefit from the open exchange of information. IoT applications with large number of low-cost devices, speed transactions and smart contracts could easily find support on QuarkChain’s suitable platform.

One of the aspects of AI technology is reinforcement learning and blockchain provides a digital platform for economic transactions. QuarksChain’s in-shard and cross-shard transactions within Sharding layer offer more efficient way for that where common trading clients can be allocated in one shard or closer shard to reduce the transaction cost.

Big data has become a viable part of the business world and in each person’s daily life. Embracing both large-scale information and knowledge, big data has great value. Many data mining algorithms and economic models can be built on QuarkChain platform.

Testnet

The testnet has so far managed to process little over 2,000 tx/s and by the middle of 2019 they should be able to process 1 million tx/s.
