If this website rewards people for upvoting content, what prevents people from just upvoting everything and making infinite money?

I've read a few posts on how steemit works, but none of them say anything about this.

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam
