If the earth would abruptly stop rotating we would all swing with an incredible strength. Because an object that is moving will stay moving unless a force is preventing that.
The earth is rotating at 1600 km/h or 1000 miles per hour. We would all being smashed to death.
Do you mean self-rotation or rotation around the sun ?
