in questionandanswer •  5 years ago  (edited)

Hello friends, hope you are all having a great day and also having a wonderful holiday. Well, I am doing great and enjoying the presence of my family before everyone go back to their various lives hehehehe. Yeah! Also I have to tend to my younger sister who is throwing up and having stomachache due to indigestion, well thanks to the fact that she could not stop herself from eating too much.... courtesy of the holidays hehehehe.

So guys, welcome to another episode of #questionandanswer with @bliss11. I could not put it up early enough as everyone is busy with the festivities including myself, but thanks to @jamerussell who made a nomination and to our guest who made this possible. Before I announce the guest, let's go on a commercial break.

How would you describe yourself?

I dislike describing myself, but I see myself as a mother, wife and student-of-the-world. I see myself as caring, helpful and intellectual. I'm always looking for answers to problems - which is one of the things that drove me to find Steem - trying to solve the problem of wanting to blog, but not wanting to commit to a single "niche" (see my Steemiversary post.)

What would you consider to be the best feeling in the world?

Love is the best feeling in the world - and the one that drives us (when we let it.)

What lesson would you want others to learn from?

Life goes on...
That's the "moral" of the stories behind Star Wars (According to George Lucas himself.) This statement reminds us of both our mortality and of our impact on the world around us - including the future.

If you are asked to eat just one food for a year, what would it be? Hahahaha

One food... Hmmm... bacon. Can't have too much bacon!

If you were to be an animal, what would you be?

I think I'd want to be an owl. Silent and unseen, but is heard - and symbol of the wise.

What are you most grateful for?

My children. I'm not sure if I would have been strong enough to meet life's challenges without them.

If you were to get away from everything, where would you go and why?

I'd go to Norway or back to Iceland - into the mountains. I love the snow and ice - especially if I can stay warm. I'd have my camera too, so I'd have plenty of pictures to Steem when I got back!

What is your favorite saying?

Hmmm... I don't do well with favorites, there are too many...
But maybe I'll use one of my own. "Normal is boring."

Tell us about a memorable experience you have had?

Memorable experience... I've had many. But one that taught me a lot was going to France with my children and a friend. None of us spoke much French, but I decided that I'd never go if I waited until I was "ready."

I had to sign a contract (car rental) that I could not read... navigate strange roads despite the fact I wasn't feeling too well (I didn't yet know of my soy intolerance which is a major fatigue trigger for me) and deal with very aggressive drivers. Our "gîte" required 10-franc coins to operate the heating, which turned out to be very expensive to heat!

Yet, we survived, with tales to tell and a very memorable experience. Despite the fact my French didn't improve very much, I did gain a very strong "instinct" for French pronunciation.

How would you spend your day without the internet?

I survived 9 months off-grid, without the internet. (Weekly internet use at the library was all I had.) I read, stitched, wrote, worked outside... The lack of internet was literally the only thing I really missed. I didn't miss the indoor bathroom, a modern fridge or even electricity. I missed having my computer for writing - and the internet. That's it. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Wow! Is it just me or did you also enjoy this wonderful time with @viking-ventures? Am sure we all did. It was a great time and read for me......She could do without electricity wow! Well am not sure I can do without it hahaha...but then again there are things we could do without the internet that may seem irrelevant now but worth it if in that situation. Did anyone else noticed Ice land is also one of her choice of a get away place, same as @c0ff33a .....well I do not know about you but Iceland here I come hahahaha!!

Thanks so much. It was fun.
I had to go back and reread @c0ff33a's answers because I had missed that he wanted to go to Iceland. I went in 2001 and can highly recommend the experience. The place will forever have a place in my heart.
