#quiettime How to spice up your life in a daily basis: #dailyhabits One chapter a day for one year challenge - Day 7 PSALM 25

in quiettime •  7 years ago  (edited)

Good morning Steemians! When you hear the word “Trust” what comes first into your minds?

When I was a kid, I associate the word “Trust” with the superheroes in the movies and comics. I like the fighting scens, visual effects, story lines, characters and most of all their desires in “Saving the World.”

In today’s #quiettime, we will talk about the “Trust.” We will learn today the following:

  1. Who should we trust
  2. Why should we trust

Let us begin we some questions. Who is your favorite superheroes? Why? If you ask me, my favorite superheroes are…

  • The Flash

    2.jpg

o He is selfless (He secures the safety of the people more than himself)
    o Fastest Man Alive
    o A Reliable Leader

  • The Green Arrow

    3.jpg

o He is selfless (He secures the safety of the people more than himself)
o A Man of his Word
    o A Loving Father

  • Superman

o He is selfless (He secures the safety of the people more than himself)
    o Man of Steel
    o Compassionate Man

How about your favorite Real Life heroes? For me…

  • Spiritual Family

    o They are selfless
o They are faithful to God
    o They are prayerful

  • Physical Family

    o They are selfless
    o They are loving
    o They are responsible

What do you think is the common denominator of my following superheroes? Yes, you got it right. It is the word “Selfless” which we can associate the word “Trust.”

Let us open our bible in Psalm 25:1-3

1.jpg

Most of the chapters of the book of Psalms are composed by King David. He writes songs for God to express his gratitude to Him. Psalm 25 is one his composition. If we read the whole verses of chapter 25, we will know that David have so many enemies (not that he is a bad person) but his enemies wants to defeat his faith for God.

With his unending battle of the enemies since he defeated Goliath down being a king, David has many reason to surrender to his enemies and give up his faith.

Instead of surrendering to his enemies…

  • He surrenders his worries, fears, anxieties, life to God. He “Trust” God that he will survive the unending battle.

  • He prayed to God through this composition. He still holds on to his faith for God.

He did this because deep down his heart, he believes that…

Verse 3

No one who hopes in you

will ever be put to shame,

but shame will come on those

who are treacherous without cause.

Isn’t the heart of David amazing? I believe we can relate to David. We are attacked by our enemies to give up the faith. Our enemies, their leader is satan, make use of worries, fears, anxieties, etc. to convince us that God cannot be trusted. But is a BIG lie. Hence, satan is “the Father of all lies.” He is the one who can be trust.

Don’t doubt the trusted ones and Don’t trust the doubted ones

I believe there we experience many defeats in life but that should not stop us in our faith. This chapter encourages us to move forward in our faith for God. We stand up every time we fall.

It’s not about how many times we fall, it’s about how many times we stand up.

Let this chapter be a tool in increasing our “Trust” with God. Like our superheroes, God has their characteristics – Saving the World. If we are inspired in their lives, so much we should be inspired with David – his heart for God.

Let us not focus on the negative things in our lives. Let us focus on the positive things. To help us realize that God is so awesome in giving us help each and everyday, list down all the positive things and negative things in your life. After listing them down, compare which are many – is it the negative things or the positive things. Try it today and see the result. Amen

Let us pray

Dear heavenly Father, truly you are all good and all righteous. May we remember you always whether are in challenging mode or winning mode. Please protect and guide us throughout the day. May you increase of faith and trust in you. May you be glorified now and forever. All these we pray, in Jesus name. Amen.
