Wisdom quote: The way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble. Proverbs 4:19

Righteousness and sin are life choices, the Book of Proverbs wisely teaches. And in this sense man is free, no man after sinning can say that God tempted him. That is why the Bible explains this spiritual truth with a wisdom quote: "God in the beginning created human beings and made them subject to their own free choice" Ben Sira 15:14.
We can live as fools or as wise and from there the consequences in life, life and death are before the eyes of man; righteousness ("Do to no one what you yourself hate" Tobit 4:15) leads us along the ways of God but sin leads us to ruin as explained in the Psalm of the Two Paths: "For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction" Psalm 1:6.
For this reason, the Book of Proverbs, to enlighten us on these paths that are lifestyles, gives us a beautiful metaphor, it tells us about a bright path, and another path that is dark:
"The path of the righteous is like the morning sun,
shining ever brighter till the full light of day.
But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness;
they do not know what makes them stumble" Proverbs 4:18-19.
And this comparison is decidedly logical because if we are uplifting, benevolent, and progressive, the knowledge of God and happiness will arise with the small steps in life, life will develop like the dawn towards noon.
But if the man is a sinner, forgetting or despising his neighbor, acting destructively, the destructive unforeseen events, that is, the famous stumbling blocks, will not take long to arrive. Sin is like a dark road.
The wise in their wisdom always try to teach us the best and most perfect, that is why they warn us with intelligence: "Don't be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the LORD and turn away from evil" Proverbs 3:7.
