8 Mile: 

8 Mile is a 2002 American drama film written by Scott Silver and starring Eminem. The film, set in 1995 and based heavily on Eminem's actual  upbringing, is an account of an aspiring white rapper named Jimmy  "B-Rabbit" Smith, Jr. (Eminem), who lives in a trailer park in Warren,  Michigan, and his attempt to launch a career in hip-hop, a genre  dominated by African-Americans. Plot: In 1995 in Detroit, Jimmy "B-Rabbit" (Eminem), a blue-collar worker  from a poor family, struggles with aspects of his life. He has moved  back north of 8 Mile Road to the run-down trailer home in Warren,  Michigan of his alcoholic mother Stephanie, his little sister Lily, and  Stephanie's abusive live-in boyfriend Greg. Although encouraged by his  friends who hail him as a talented rapper, Jimmy worries about his  potential as a musician, due to his lack of confidence. Such anxiety  causes him to falter during a rap battle one night at a local venue  called "The Shelter", and he leaves the stage humiliated. Very difficult situations come in his life. But Jimmy don't give up  his dream to be a successful rapper. Will he manage to get over, the  fact that he has no money, that he is white and he faces  discrimination?  In my opinion, if you like Hip-Hop, then you MUST see this movie. 


Lose Yourself: 

It was released on 28th October 2002. It received acclaim from music critics, with many critics praising  the song's aggressive themes and describing it as Eminem's best work to  date. Eminem's rapping ability, the lyrics and the production were also  praised. In many retrospective reviews and lists, critics have cited the  song among Eminem's finest, as well as one of the best hip hop songs of  all time. "Lose Yourself" was a commercial success, peaking atop of the  charts in eighteen countries, including the United Kingdom and  Australia. In the United States, "Lose Yourself" reached number one on  the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the first of five Eminem singles to top  the Hot 100. It also won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2003, making  it the first ever rap song to have received this accolade, and also won  the Grammy Award for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Solo Performance in  2004. In 2004, it was one of only three hip hop songs from the 21st  century to have been included on Rolling Stone's list of the "500  Greatest Songs of All Time", and was also the highest ranking, at number  166.
