Science, Religion and Morality have all proven beyond reasonable doubts that we are dependent on our environment for survival. Our food, water, medicine, timber, minerals, crude oil, precious metals, etc. come from the environment. Without these natural resources, we will cease to exist and this explains why we must take action to guard and wisely use these resources so that future generations can also get a glimpse and taste of these precious resources. We’ve already driven millions of species to extinction and its sad to know that if we continue with this unsustainable lifestyle, then we will drive even humanity to extinction. The current rate at which “Man” has altered ecological balance has already killed millions of our future generations before they are even born.
However there is still a lot of hope as millions of people all over the world are beginning to rise-up to speak and take action for the planet and for future generations. This week’s #GreenQuote salutes the efforts of all those who have been advocating and taking action to create a thriving, just and sustainable planet.
The work of environmental defenders today is helping to create a safer, healthier and more sustainable planet for future generations. The fruits of their labor may not be reaped by them but by future generations and this explains why one wise man once said; “He that plants a tree loves others and future generations”
