Article Snippet: "I never leave my crypto in someone else's house (i.e., exchanges, platform wallets or online swap accounts) unless I plan to use that house's services in the near future."

Salutations.
I am JaiChai.
And if I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you before, I'm delighted to make your acquaintance now.
I invite you to interact with everyone, learn and have as much fun as possible!
For my returning online friends, "It's always great to see you again!"
I created a BLOCKZONE account today.
BLOCKZONE.com facilitates access to DeFi projects and token sale campaigns.
Signing up for the account was fast and painless.
In fact, my KYC was approved in less than 3 hours, instead of the normal 24 hours or more.
Within 30 minutes and completing some mundane tasks, I'd already gained 670 STPT tokens.
I never leave my crypto in someone else's house (i.e., exchanges, platform wallets or online swap accounts) unless I plan to use that house's services in the near future.
That's why I made a home for my new STPT guests (a personal wallet for STPT tokens).
I copied the STPT ERC-20 contract address from etherscan.io -
0xDe7D85157d9714EADf595045CC12Ca4A5f3E2aDb
... and pasted it into my Atomic Wallet's add "custom token" by contract address field.
Good ole' Atomic Wallet automatically filled in the rest of the STPT wallet's information and Bam! - an instant STPT ERC-20 token wallet for JaiChai!
I went back to BLOCKZONE.com to withdraw the minimum withdrawal amount of 500 STPT.
BUT…
Because of the current ETH Gas fees, BLOCKZONE.com requires 200 STPT for the transaction!
That meant my 500 STPT transfer costs 700 STPT - 30 STPT over my current balance.
It's no miracle why the withdrawal and transaction fees are setup this way. It keeps new people from doing a drive by with the tokens they got for free.
And it's rampant in the Cryptocurrency space.
This is exactly what I face with my HIVE on ionomy, PBQ on Ataix, 1UP on ProBit, PRE on HitBTC - and the list goes on and on.
I've decided to press the "Pause" button and just chill for awhile.
And in an endless loop, these words from an early mentor echoes in my brain:
"Son, whether it be a purchase, a trade or simply transferring to and from wallets and exchanges, anytime you mess with your crypto, someone always takes their pound of flesh!"

Believing that school was too boring, he dropped out of High School early; only to earn an AA, BS and MBA in less than 4 years much later in life – while working full-time as a Navy/Marine Corps Medic.
In spite of a fear of heights and deep water, he performed high altitude, free-fall parachute jumps and hazardous diving ops in deep, open ocean water.
After 24 years of active duty, he retired in Asia.
Since then, he's been a full-time single papa and actively pursuing his varied passions (Writing, Disruptive Technology, Computer Science and Cryptocurrency - plus more hobbies too boring or bizarre for most folk).
He lives on an island paradise with his girlfriend, teenage daughter and two dogs.
