Thanks for kind comment Stephen, we are fortunate not to have baboons in our region, whose size and aggression is daunting. Hopefully one day I will get to photograph our mongoose family that come into the garden, bit difficult with Woody around.

None of my dogs have chased them nor been aggressive, male monkeys tend to bare their teeth and warn you not to approach. Unfortunately some people do set their dogs onto the monkeys which is unfortunate since most animals normally coexist happily together.

Full on mischief at least twice a day moving through the gardens @enjar, wild cats cruise through at night no real problem with them having a dog in the house.

I have never ever heard it or seen in movies - the street monkey culture in any country except a few Asian countries.

They are like little gangsters running through the towns, foraging through gardens tasting everything along the way. Dirt bin collection day is not fun, they climb in tearing bags to see if there is anything worthwhile for them to snack on.
Most of the time the stay in the garden (don't come into homes), getting up to all kinds of antics, they are adorable giving one a feeling of what life should be like sharing with everything in your region.
Yes they are wild Vervet Monkeys we have in our area.

Oh my goodness, I don't know what's cuter--the monkeys or the dog! I enjoyed seeing them both! A friend of mine just got back from a trip to Costa Rica and she loved hearing and seeing all of the monkeys every morning. Though she said the Howlers can be a little disconcerting to hear their calls at times!

My kitchen is in the Dutch blue and white Traci, collected that old teapot thirty years ago in enamel only recently put it to good use regularly.
Monkeys are adorable to watch except when they decide to use one of the cars in the garden as a trampoline from one roof to the next playing games, for the most part I just enjoy having them around.
