The short version of it all:
- Tier 1
OLD: Upvote 4 times a week on any @qurator post with a minimum of $0.01 or at least 100% upvote if you do not have a $0.01 upvote.
NEW: Upvote 7 times a week on any @qurator posts with a minimum upvote of at least $0.03 OR pay 1 Steem per month subscription.
- Tier 2
OLD: Upvote 7 times a week on any @qurator posts with a minimum of $0.01 or at least 100% upvote if you do not have a $0.01 upvote.
NEW: Upvote 7 times a week on any @qurator posts with a minimum upvote of at least $0.05 OR pay the 2 Steem per month subscription.
Subscription Details:
We are currently accepting the Steem for the monthly subscriptions (a more detailed post will be featured this week).
Send Steem for Tier 1 and 2 to @qurator with this memo:
For Tier 1 : 1 Steem - memo SUB 1 MAY
For Tier 2 : 2 Steem - memo SUB 2 MAY
Paying in advance:
Multiply the fee for the Tier you want by the amount of months and send in one transfer:
Example:
- for 3 months on T2: send 6 steem - memo: SUB 2 Jul
- for 2 months on T1: send 2 steem - memo: SUB 1 June
Please remember to pay the subscription before the start of the month.
What about all the members who don't have a $0.03 upvote yet?
We have not forgotten about our minnows and we will still be offering a higher tier if they choose to support Qurator.
Upvote a minimum of 7 posts per week at 100% and still get placed in Tier 1 instead of Tier 0.
This way everyone has the option to go the upvote or subscription route for higher Tiers.
Everything else still stays the same, Tiers still stack with delegations and you can still access T1 and T2 for 100 and 200 SP delegations.
Note: You can stack to Tier 2 if your upvote is currently worth $0.03 (T1) and you pay the 1 steem (T1) ie: T1 + T1 = T2
New member bonus!
Since new members pay the 4 Steem registration fee, we will be offering them T2 membership for a full month to enjoy upon registration. This should help them get some of the funds back from what they spent for the registration fee.
NOTE: All members who joined in April will be given Tier 2 for the full month of May.

As a member of @qurator we already know you post original content and we fully support original quality content, especially from minnows. We send out daily upvotes to all our Qurites if they post, but if they show some participation or invest in @qurator we feel they deserve some better rewards from @qurator. That's where Tiers come in. Below you will find all the members of @qurator and their respective tiers.

If you want to support Qurator more we suggest delegating or upvoting our Daily Qurator posts. This can be automated with Steemvoter (guide to set up a Steemvoter account HERE.

The Tier 1 and 2 upvote weights are a little lower than expected, keep in mind that the upvote weights and values will change as the new changes take effect on MAY 1st.

Qurator Selfvote
Our account is now big enough that a selfvote will make a big difference in the long run. Most of our profits go towards leases and our members. Our selfvote will start this week, thus the voting weights will take a dip and then from next week the values should increase. With our selfvote and we can show extra support later on to all our members. We will do the upvotes near the end of our post payout to ensure all our members upvoting us will get some extra curation in. ;)
Mutual Project support
We have formed and alliance with the Silver Gold Community. @silvergoldbotty will be upvoting one @qurator post a day and we will be upvoting one @silvergoldbotty post a day. This is experimental for now. The reasoning behind it is that we will be able to generate more SBD per week and with more SBD we will be able to better keep up with our leases as well getting some new ones. Thus, even though the voting weight will decrease the actual value of the votes will increase since we will have more SP later on. =)
If this goes well we will look into mutual support between other projects as well. =)

Thanks for the update. I just have a clarification question regarding upvote stacking.
I see that you are allowing people to get T 1 even if their 100% upvote is less than $0.03:
But regarding stacking up upvote and subscription/delegate you write:
Is the upvote stacking ONLY available if your upvote meets the $0.03 threshold, even if you acheived T1 through 100% upvotes that are less than the threshold?
By way of example, if I 100% upvote 7 posts/week at less than the threshold AND delegate 100 SP AND send 1 Steem per month. Is that a T2 or T3 scenario?
Another question, and I'm sorry if this is unnecessary complicated, but what can be said about the person who upvotes ALL @qurator posts with each vote below the threshold, BUT the total combined upvote is more than $0.21. Note that 7 upvotes at $0.03 = $0.21. This past week, there have been 11 @qurator posts.
Again, by way of example, let's say I upvoted all 11 of those posts, but each upvote was only worth $0.02. Well, that means my combined weekly upvote "contribution" was $0.22.
The same question applies to the T2 voting threshold. 7 votes of $0.05 = $0.35. What if somebody contributes more than $0.35 each week with upvotes, but each vote is less than $0.05?
Again, sorry. I'm a lawyer and sorta live for the fringe examples :D

About the stacking of T1 - as some member do not have their vote at 0.03 value yet, we do allow them to stack up with their 100% too. As long as the T1 is achieved (by 0.03 upvote or 100%) it can be stacked to any higher Tier.
So your example...
...would give you T3:
100% upvote (T1) + 100 SP (T1) + 1 Steem (T1) = T3
Looks like we have been lawyer :p
Theoretically your calculations are right here. If someone upvotes with less on more posts the total value in a week would match. But it would make a hell to admin for us if we start allowing exceptions like this. Thus we tried to unify it for everyone and make it simple by upvoting 7 posts a week.

Thanks for the detailed response! And I totally understand about the administrative issues. I was not sure what the back-end looked like for you guys when you are measuring people's upvotes. If calculating weekly upvote value is more complicated than tracking whether or not someone votes 7 times at 100% or $0.03, then I agree with sticking with the system you guys have. It is a good one.

I understand the need for the shift to the subscription model, but alas, it's not going to be viable for me. I go for a quality-over-quantity approach to posting, so it's highly unlikely that the Qurator autovotes will pay for themselves.
I will remain a member and continue to use @qustodian, which is a better model for the kind of posting I do!

Hello, you can still upvote Qurator's posts for higher Tier like you do now. We kept this option for members that do not post on a daily basis.

For T1 it is either way $0.03 or 100%. So your vote will still count.
If you can delegate 100SP (T1) it will add up to your votes and give Tier 2.

So the only real change on May 1 is that the minimum upvote less than 100% goes up from $0.01 to $0.03... and you have the option of a Steem-per-month subscription?
