As Winter start knocking the door, my hunger starts to get a boost. I starts craving for food every hour and the need to eat more keep me hooked either to kitchen or to any restaurant. I know , this is biological and happens to most of the people. In order to control my diet and to restrict myself to eat more at once, which will definately make me lethargic, I found a way to get rid of my hunger. I started to keep some ready to "munch" items with me. Especially, items made up of 'Jaggery".
This is a normal plate of items found in every home. Mostly consisting of Teel (sesame seeds), Peanuts, Popcorn, Gajak.
Sesame seed is considered as a warm food. Consuming sesamr seeds during winter helps in generating body heat which further helps in keeping our body warm from inside It is a rich source of Protein too.
In India we have lot of varity dishes made up.of Sesame seeds during winter. Eating them help the body to maintain the temperature
The next item on my menu list is Khandvi
Though this is something, I always craving from some restaurants. A Gujrati dish made up of Gram Flour and yoghurt rolled into small bite. Always a tastier to eat, but enough to kill my hunger
The next on my winter munching list is Peanuts & Makhana dry fry without any Oil. In case you want, you may get these dipped into sugar syrup after plain frying it. Always a crispy but tasteless if eaten normal.
Makhana is called as Fox Nut. It is also considered as God's Food because of its high usage in many religious purpose. Highly nutritious and healthy food. Rich in Protein, low on Cholestrol and Fat, it is ideal item to satiate, in between meal hunger pangs. Alongwith Peanuts it give me a nice taste and help me to keep warm.
Also easily prepared at home, without much difficulty. Need to get these item from store and fry them and keep it in Jar.
The next is all time favourite and one of winter speciality Gajar ka Halwa. Gajar known as Carrots.
Completelly prepared and soaked in milk with added sugar for taste, it is a must eat *winter dessert". Prepare it once and keep it for long. If craving for food, just get them into microwave to warm and to enjoy unlimited deliciousness.
It is very common at every indian home during winter i believe.
These few munches are instant hunger reliever and helps me to keep healthy. Instead of filling your stomach at once, it is better to keep munching these dishes and items at regular intervals to avoid much craving for food. This is my way to kill winter hunger apart from drinking water.
People do ignore water in winter, but it is very essential to keep drinking it in intervals even if you are not feeling thirsty. Just to maintain the body equiliberium.
