In this series that I will do to show a little what I like, because for those who do not know I had a small collectibles store, something similar to that famous one: The Price of History, which appears on so many television networks, of course but mine very small compared to that on TV. Which was born with the idea of buying and from there selecting the things that I collect and sell the others that I don't, to promote the hobby of collecting and see that this idea led me to travel to many cities in the country, have a radio program and many more things thanks to this passion.
The radio program aired on two local stations, Woman 105.1 FM and Villa 95.5 FM, one for a year and the next station for more than a year and a half. It was called: Collecting Ando. The slogan was: his show on collecting, art and culture. I learned a lot there by having to prepare the material, talk with the special guests who could be: people who collected, artists, poets, popular cultures and characters from our city.
I tried to create the first association of collectors in my country that would bring together all those who collect, because if there are some, in case you are wondering, but each branch is on its own, and the most organized have always been the numismatists, but the idea It was to bring everyone together, whatever they collected, I contacted a large number of people with the same passion by face book and we even got to do 2 national conventions, but for the
strong economic crisis, everything stopped, losing all the work in advance, until contact was lost between so many friends, that many times we met at the home of one of the members, I met many people, and they invited me to visit them and see their collections or small private museums. What days those, how I miss them.
Due to that crisis, many things have been lost, in my case I had to sell many of the pieces in my collection, and almost always at very low prices to be able to move on, something I do not regret, they helped my family survive Given all this, and well, I know that those who bought them took them to a place that cares for them, surely there will be more opportunities. I wanted to create a new style of multifunctional private museum, which would promote the culture of collecting, because if one sells the pieces that he does not collect and with that he bought another, he could improve his collection, also making exchanges and I verified that all that worked, of course a normal economy. My multifunctional private museum was a cultural site, which was self-sustaining, so to speak, and I could continue to do what I liked promoting culture, provided the facilities for local artists to record their videos without charging them and maintained a balance. Although many times I try to explain to government entities how positive tourist and cultural sites can be as well as that life project that I create, they understood very little, people have the bad habit of a double standard, as far as they think that everything cultural should be free, I think the opposite, because with what is going to maintain the costs? If something good can be self-financed, why can't it earn something? at least in my country people are wrong about that, in my opinion good projects can look for options to finance themselves. I still have some things left after going through these years of hard crisis, and with everything and that living all that has changed our lives, I still keep some things, of course while I can 8 I always have hope that this crisis will pass) so maybe some things be saved and I can again put the museum open to the public, and on one side the little store to finance my expenses and be able to continue with the work, of what generates profit there and why not, rotate the pieces as before and every time to place better pieces in the collection,
selling some that did not go with the style, to buy others or that there will be some profit? My experience showed me that it is very positive and that led my collection to grow a lot, also the cultural work was maintained without costing a single dollar or Bolívar to the government, being a private site, imagine 800 to 1000 tourist sites like that in a country , I always dreamed of taking it further, and improving to do something that was even more renowned than what I achieved in those days, well, yes, it was recognized and was a benchmark in my city, whether or not some want to recognize it. Collecting is a beautiful passion, it also helps a lot to save pieces for the study of future generations, since 90% of historical pieces have been saved by a collector and even being in safekeeping or in a private collection, it is very positive, because It is preserved so that in the future they can enjoy it, since none of us take anything with us when we die, everything we build is for others, so it should always be seen this way, how to save an object for others to admire, contributing a lot to the historical memory of the peoples.
