Working at two Hmong-focused schools in the Twin Cities offered a holistic understanding of the idea of diversity. In these politically-polarized times, a holistic view of just about any issue is welcome. So, I wrote this essay in my attempt to offer some clarity on this charged, misunderstood, and even misused idea.
