Racial Economic Disparities

Yes, I am a person of color and yes, I do believe racism does exist in the US. However, I will contend that the disparity among the different ethnic and racial groups has more to do with academic preparation and skills that are needed for employment.

The presence of businesses in neighborhoods has more to do with cost of operating the business in that neighborhood than race of residents. Banks not lending money to individuals has more to do with credit history, assets, employment, etc. than with race.

Businesses, banks, etc. are in the business of making a profit. If the profit opportunities present themselves they will leverage their resources provided the risks are within an acceptable margin.
