Last weekend I went to Milan, Italy with a group of collegues to visit the Formula One Grand Prix of Italy.
Qualification on Saturday was really wet, with constant rain coming down. The cars started at 14.00 local time but red flags were out after about 3 to 4 minutes when Grosjean lost control of his car on the main straight and crashed. After that is took more then 2 and a half hour before Qaulification was resumed.
We saw a great Qualification where the real drivers were able to show their qualities on the very wet track. After about an hour Lewis Hamilton took pole position in front of the two Red Bull drivers Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo. Lewis took the pole in the last lap overtaking our Dutch hero Verstappen.
Race Sunday was a completely different day. Blue skies, and a really nice 23 degrees for the whole day, our seats where located about 130 meters before the famous Parabolica corner, so really close to the breaking point and the place where the cars are racing near topspeed.
During the drivers parade there was a nice moment when the two Ferrari drivers were interviewed right in front of our nose, the Tifosi went crazy and loved it. This was also the only moment this sunday were it was possible for Max Verstappen to overtake both Ferrari drivers.
The race itself was somewhat dissappointing for the Dutch racing fans, Max Verstappen made contact with Felipe Massa in lap 3 and punctured his right front tyre, after this he was dead last. He raced like he could and ended up tenth, just grabbing a point for the World Championship.
I really loved my first Formula One race and for sure want to go again in the near future!
