Since I was born, I have been repeatedly told by my parents, siblings, friends, teachers, even haters and foes, how handsome, intelligent, smart, fearless, determined, kind hearted, charismatic, charming, extraordinary, to mention but a few, that I am.
In as much as it could be true, or an exaggeration of lavish praise, which I have tried so much not to take too seriously, I received the hardest blow to my my mentality, reputation, self esteem and complex, when some other people who happens to have a pink color as against my dark skin, saw me as dumb, ugly, backward, unintelligent, two-third human, worthless and as a thing not better than a monkey in the jungle just by the color of my skin.
This act of unexamined prejudice against other people different from you, otherwise known as racism has taken another angle in modern times.
There have been increasing number of black people who have unavoidably become racist and reverse racists in modern times.
Some black people now see every other human except the black man as inferior, while some other black people now see the black race as inferior to every other race. But there are also white people who see things differently. They almost always take pride in Africa, and in blackness. I have a lot of white friend like that
One of them is my lovely friend Pamela Urban, who still remind me that I could truly be smart, intelligent, handsome, charming, charismatic, kind hearted and human. She seem more black and African than most black and African people in uplifting the humanity of the African race.
Pamela Urban, you are a true African.
