Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday launched a fresh attack on PM Modi for demonetisation and GST and termed them Modi-made disasters. Gandhi scion promised that his party will continue to put pressure on NDA govt until GST is simplified as the present tax rates were posing problems for business community. During the Inc India event one of the most eligible bachelors of India also answered some tricky questions regarding his marriage vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday took a jibe at NDA govt for demonetisation and Goods and Services Tax (GST) and stressed he will continue putting pressure on Modi govt to simplify the GST. Speaking at an Inc India event, Rahul Gandhi also said that if Congress comes back to power it will provide enough space to Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) in economic policy. Hitting out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi termed him a man with ‘big chest but small heart’. Gandhi also spoke about difficulty businessmen had to go through because of moves like GST and demonetisation.
Gandhi said that the govt must do away with 5-6 slabs for GST as the present tax regime is making it look overcomplicated. “Our position is clear that GST is over-complicated. There should not be 5-6 slabs. 28 percent tax should be capped at 18 percent,” he said. Rahul Gandhi also addressed businessmen’s concerns over Aadhaar and said that it was designed during UPA rule to maintain an order in the society, but present govt was trying to convert it into a monetary arm which could have a disastrous impact.
