Greatest Movie Of All Time
It's Not Even Close
Let's not waste any time and get right to it.:
Number 1 - The Best Protagonist Ever
Can we all agree right now that Indiana Jones is the best and most iconic heroic character ever? The fedora hat, the whip, the two day stubble, and the leather jacket...what more do you need?
Number 2 - The Best Opening Sequence Ever
Who could forget the tension? The booby traps, the tarantulas, the giant boulder, the South American warriors, and the giant plane snake...incredible.
Number 3 - Humor
There were several instances, but I'll rest my case on one line..."It's not the years honey, it's the mileage." I have been using that line for decades!
Number 4 - Protagonist's Character
He is educated, smarmy, sarcastic, skeptical, imperfect, gritty, flawed, and despite being a college professor can overcome obstacles through sheer force of will.
Number 5 - Great Villain
Belloq & the Nazis were the perfect complex combo of 'bad guys.'
Number 6 - Action
The fight sequences were so well done, including sound design, that you felt every punch.
Number 7 - Great Heroine
One of the few instances where she is almost an equal to the protagonist, plus she helps him, even in the fights.
Number 8 - Practical Effects and Stunts
They hold up to this day largely because they were practical, especially the truck chase scene.
Number 9 - Soundtrack
John Williams composed, once again, one of the most iconic scores of all time. I especially like the super charged track of the aforementioned truck chase scene. Check it out!
Number 10 - Et Cetera
It heavily involves history, religion, politics, and Arabs.
Number 11 - Pacing, Plot/Story, Cinematography, Locations, Nudity Not Necessary, Minimal Cussing, No Token Characters For Pandering Purposes, No Political Correctness, and even some Romance!
To be continued....
