A few weeks ago i visited the Wee Georgie Wood Steam Railway located in Tullah Tasmania. This is volunteer run by local peaple. Locals got together to keep and preserve their history back in 1977.
This railway that was there only link with the outside world other then walking or by horse back travel. That was until Tullah was linked by road in 1962. This tramway was put in for The North Mount Farrell mine for shipping out there ore and would take passengers and freight.
This railway was opened in 1909 to replace the use of pack horses. Wee Georgie Wood was in use until 1964. This railway originally had three locomotives, Wee Georgie Wood, Wee Mary and a Krauss loco called Puppy. Some parts from Wee Mary have been used many years ago to keep Wee Georgie Wood running.
There is around 2klm of rebuilt track with a baloon loop at both ends. This is operated as a tourist railway so you can take a ride on this beautiful little railway. This narrow gauge steam locomotive due to its tiny size was named after the British actor and comedian Wee Georgie Wood, who was only 4 ft 9" tall.
I have some photos from my time there to share with you i hope you enjoy these.
The end.

I love old steam trains and enjoyed the information you shared, it really adds to the post. I'm guessing the wooden structure is the original station there? Thanks for sharing. By the way did you ride on her?
