RAIN A BLESSING OR A CURSE.....

Hi steemains, here I wanna discus about the monsoon in Karachi which is turned in to a curse for the poor people but it is still a blessing for the rich or government officers. Government of Sindh should take a serious look in this matter that how the people of Karachi is living an uncomfortable life
We often crave for things that we don’t have – it’s human psyche. Likewise, rain is one of the most desirable things, and more so here because it comes for short intervals of time. Rain simply beautifies the atmosphere around us. The sound of rain charges everyone and children, in particular, enjoy playing in the puddles created by rainwater.

While people want to enjoy the smell of rain, stress takes over once the downpour becomes unpredictable.

The first spell of the monsoon rains lashed the port city Wednesday evening and a large area of the city plunged into darkness as hundreds of feeders of K-Electric tripped.

Heavy rain disrupted routine life in Karachi, sending low-lying areas inundated with accumulated rainwater.

Mostly, the blessings of this season changed into a curse on account of natural calamities and disasters – especially in the port city.

The ‘educated’ bureaucrats running the city’s administration are sitting comfortably in their offices, indifferent to all the chaos that surrounds them.

This may sound like a rant, but these issues have been raised countless times in the media. What does the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) do all year round when its only job is to ensure efficient administration in the City of Lights? I must say that negligence of Sindh government and civilian departments has made the rain a curse and source of inconvenience for Karachiites.

Eventually, the general public is the one that suffers. They are the ones who have to endure wading through Karachi’s muddy roads and lose more than just their worldly possessions — their sanity.

In two days, at least 11 people, including two children, were killed in various rain-related incidents in different localities of Karachi.
