The railway connection between Sylhet and Sylhet has been stopped due to the derailment of the inter-city express train at Satgaon station at Moulvibazar. The incident took place on Thursday night at the Srimangal Upazila of Moulvibazar.

According to Srimangal and Shamshernagar station sources, on Thursday night, 11 tunnels on the main line of Dhaka-bound 740 passenger suburban Express Satgaon passenger lineup were derailed. After this incident, the rail communication between Sylhet and Sylhet has remained closed till 9am on Friday. As a result, more than 1000 passengers of this train are victims of suffering.
Srimangal station officer Shakhawat Hossain confirmed the incident and said that 11 compartments were derailed without the engine of Engine Express and a bogie. As a result, Dhaka-bound Surma Mail was stuck at Sylhet-bound Antanagar Suburban Express, Udayan Express, Jalalabad Express, Surma Mail and Shamshernagar stations at different stations including Shayestaganj. According to the situation, the railway connection remained closed for 8 hours till 9am on Friday.
Railway's SM (Signal Maintenance) working on the spot, Belal Hossain said in the first light on Friday, rescue workers and employees came back and found three bogies.
