I came down with a nasty bug Saturday night. My throat was so sore I couldn't sleep, and I spent most of Sunday in a sort of fever delerium as I watched TV. I rarely watch TV for any length of time unless I am sick, now that I think about it.
Today has been better, although I am plagued by a nagging cough. On the bright side, all this "free" time means I finally finished Stranger Things Season 1, and I am well into Season 2.
These people...they're not wired like me and you, OK? They don't spend their lives trying to get a look at what's behind the curtain. They like the curtain. It provides them stability, comfort, definition. This, this would open the curtain, and open the curtain behind that curtain, OK? So the minute anyone with an ounce of authority calls bullshit, everyone will nod their heads and say, "See? Ha! I knew it! It was bullshit." That is, if you even get their attention at all.

It might be a silly sci-fi horror show from an evil mega-corp, but that sentiment has a grain of truth. People hate being told the war on terror is killing innocent people based on a trail of lies, and the soldiers are not heroes fighting for freedom. People hate being told immigration is not a crime. People hate being told the war on drugs is wrong. People hate being told the social justice warrior crusades are all bullshit avoiding the root problems in our world.
Or maybe I'm still in a fever delerium and just imagining things. Always a possibility.
