So, it looks like the new Rammstein video, "Angst", has started some debate… Went to Reddit… Which I know is an extremely bias platform… and it seems like all the non-Germans have an entirely different interpretation than the actual Germans… And ppl who actually speak the native language… But go figure… Leave up to Americans to tell other countries about their language… I mean, we are the ones who tried to tell all Spanish-speaking ppl to start saying LatinX…
Anyway I already said for the most part what my interpretation of the video, or the message of the video, going by the English translation and the interpretation of the translation given to me by people who actually speak German….
But for the those who are hell-bent in interpreting this to be strictly about race… This is what I have to say… I do believe the fear of immigration had something to do with it… However, again I think that was the least of it… Boogie Man aka Black Man is any enemy the media tells us to be afraid of…
Like when ur parents tells you to eat all ur veggies, or some mythical evil creature will come for u… A way to keep someone controlled, and so they will do as they're told… And as we get older the boogie man can be anything and anyone; from immigrants, gay ppl, cis ppl, a virus, gas prices, women, men, children, the system, or even Society as a whole…. The media can fearmonger and program you to be deathly afraid of anything….
The walls were built between the neighbors… Not the refugees… The surveillance cameras were set up and pointed towards the neighbors… Not the refugees… They never point a gun at the refugees… They pointed them at each other, the walls, and the programming device itself…and in the end it was a citizen who broke the television… Ending the programming or brainwashing… and the refugees continued to watch…
I think if it was Only about the hatred and fear of black ppl or refugees… Then a lot more of the aggression would have been directed toward the refugees… But it wasn't… It was directed to the citizens themselves… Anyway, I still think the overwhelming message was the Fearmongering and propaganda from media…
So ask ourselves who controls the media… Overwhelming so… I think most non-Germans saw the word, “Black Man”, and then interpreted the video through their own bias, perception, and perspectives… Not realizng the words or phrases we use in the English language does not mean or have the same emphasis on it, the same way it does when we say it...
But anyway bias is just human nature, so it's to be expected...Take a song that's meant to tell ALL of us to wake up...and turn into their saying this side is bad and I am good...But that's tribalism for you...But what do you guys think...and if you haven't seen my reaction just click on the link to join the conversation ☺️:
