Stop beating the whale, please.

Too much of a good thing is a bad thing.

I personally believe upvoting bots are a great addition to the Steemit ecosystem since it provides a net benefit to everyone involved when used properly, but the amount of abuse I see is certainly growing. Crap like this gives critics ammo to bring the entire "upvote economy" down.

Just one of many examples:

@amat isn't the only one doing this, to be sure, but when you do it in @randowhale's own threads, you draw a lot of attention to yourself.

A simple change would be to only allow @randowhale and other voting bots to work on top-level posts. Some people will abuse it with top-level posts, to be sure, but it's far more visible, and if we combine it with a separate downvoting pool, it will at least reduce the amount of abuse that poor @randowhale gets.

When you vote up your terrible comments like this, you're damaging your own reputation, the ecosystem, the reward pool, the voting pool for these bots.

Stop being such a jackass, please.

I know I'm not the first to point out this problem but the more people that say something, the more likely it is that something will be done about it.
