A LITTLE RANT.

I buy $100 worth of ethereum from Luno to convert to steem. They charge me a fee. I can't send or convert steeem on their platform. So I'm left with no other alternative but to use another exchange -- blocktrade. I send my ether to blocktrade with extra changes. I think blockades also charges me for converting my ether to steem because what I'm left with at the end of the day is around $93. The larger the mount the larger the fee.

I don't know, asides all these developments on here, is anyone trying to solve this problem of buying steem, especially in third world countries where these charges are significant. It really pisses me off that I have to let go for some much for a small transaction. Even banks don't charge that much around here. It is ridiculously expensive to buy steem or any crypto for that matter.

On other matters...

I have been stuck in the silver tier 1 on splinterland for the past 2-3 days. I quickly rose up to silver tier from the bottom after a long break from the gaming but I can't seem to get past it. At some point, I thought the algorithm was against me because I thought I would have won certain matches but that never happened. I have tried to change strategies a couple of things but that isn't working either and I think my strategies are pretty good. So now I have resorted to buying cheap gold cards to boost my performance. I have to halt any plans to buy though because I have to pay back my loan this week and since I'm not powering down or taking out of my liquid steem I have to pay with fiat, which isn't a problem if not for the ridiculous charges these exchanges charge. So yeah regarding my splinterland deadlock I am open to tips and suggestions. I know a lot of you guys are a diehard fan of the game. Looking at some people's portfolio I'm stunned. Some people actually have enough in this game that can change my life. I saw an account worth $14k. With that money I can start a business...let me not go into that. Some of you guys are really fortunate.

Lastly, it's sort of hard writing these days. I always have ideas but end up doing videos which don't really cover the scope of my ideas but it pays better and it's less work. I have my splinterland goal to pursue. And it's not like people are actually reading. I know many claims that people are color blind here but honestly, it doesn't feel that way. Even trolls from certain race get more attention here than most people putting in work. I'm not getting to nag about it. It might just be in my head and I don't want to lose sleep over it.

I have been unable to achieve my goal of connecting with more Nigerian/Africans here which I feel is very important for my growth and projects I have in mind and also to fight this feeling of loneliness I sometimes feel here. To be honest there is no motivation to engage in a live chatroom with people who do not have similar realities with me. I get lost in their conversations that sometimes drift away from steem and I'm not the fella that tries to fake things just to score points with people. Didn't do that before not going to happen now when I don't need to. I failed to mention the age gap. Imagine been all paddy-paddy with people older than my mum ( she is 45 by the way). Honestly, it was easier when the Nigerian communities we're alive and active. The few of us still active here are just chasing the money and I don't blame them. However, I want to build something substantial and feel like I have real impact and engagement. I feel like I'm talking to myself most times and there are fewer things here that interest me. Now I don't need to post regularly I feel reluctant to do so when I should. But I'm hoping to get my WordPress blog working again and connect with more creative people on Twitter, revamp my YouTube vlog and get things working.
