Americans Have Lost Their Minds
I will start by letting you know that this entire post was done on my phone. That's my little disclaimer.
I strolled into the historic town of Roanoke, Va right at the time they stop selling alcohol. My luck huh? We spotted the highest hotel in the city and chose that as our resting spot for the evening. When I entered the lobby of Hampton Inn, CNN was on one tv and FOX was on another. Images of a protest at Trump tower, clips of a racially motivated violent act in Charlottesville, NC, and discussions of war with North Korea. I would be a fool to believe that some people don't have hate in their hearts. But you would be a fool to believe that the media doesn't play a role in facilitating these confrontations. 10 days on the road with my family and I realized that politics has not been discussed at all. It seems that when the media and government play a central role, life can be daunting and quite dismal. Now I can see where the Anarchist are coming from, but I still believe in balance.

That's great! It really is beautiful. There are a lot of fantastic views to behold, especially from hiking trails and such, but I-81 has some of the nicest interstate highway views I've ever seen. I still think my favorite is Skyline Drive through Shenandoah National Park.

Bad news sells. More bad news sells more. Good for the economy, right? Governments do the same thing. It's called propaganda. Our children didn't watch much TV and when they did it was publicly funded. No Advertising. Now you need to screen what they see on the computer.
We are bombarded every day, thousands of times per day with misinformation. Everyone has a biased slant to what is called news. It is difficult to sift through what is fact and what is fiction.
That is why when we go on vacation, we don't take any electronic devices with us. At All. It's too distracting. Takes away from your enjoyment of your surroundings and the people that you are with.

Thats true sir, we have to always find a balance, because, be it as it may, we all can't agree on one objective truth, (just like CNN and FOX) because man is the measure of all things. We believe what we want to believe in and makeup theories to back it up and even try to manipulate others to come on board with us.
At the end, what matters is not just the stories, but the balance it creates.

I rarely watch television and the news. I read my news from different sources and have found that I am more concerned lately with what I am doing not what is going on in politics. It isn't that I don't care, I just realize the only thing I can change and effect are the things in my own life and the people I am able to help when I can. If I am able to do my little part and others follow suit we can change the world for the better and peacefully regardless of what the media is spewing out.
