The rise of underground rap musicsteemCreated with Sketch.

If you're regularly listening to music, I bet you've heard at least a few ex-underground rappers which have been blowing up the past months. Few examples are SuicideBoys, Bones, Kodak Black and Lil Uzi Vert and so on.

Where did these rappers start you might ask yourself, the answer is simple. Soundcloud. It's a whole new way of rapping compared to original rappers like Snoop, Eminem and so on. Older people would probably call it trashy as the usual stuff these rappers sing about is drugs and so on.

I think rap industry has really taken a change, for the better if you ask me. Rapping about social phobia, anxiety and so on would never ever be heard in a 90's rap song.

That's a really good point about the anxiety & mental health stuff. This is definitely the beginning of rap opening up and allowing artists to be more down to Earth.
