Great Curassow

Everyone knows that there are many species of birds in the world ranking from small to large, and colorful to plain.

The Great Curassow is a rare and beautiful bird. These birds are a magnificent bird, so named for its conspicuous size of almost a meter tall. This bird is a secretive species found in humid tropical forests that feed mostly on fruits but also eats small invertebrates as well as vertebrates.

This bird is a large, pheasant-like bird from the Neotropical rainforests and these birds range extending from eastern Colombia and northwestern Ecuador. Great Curassow can reach an astounding length of 39 inches and can weigh over 15 pounds.

This bird's male birds are black with curly crests and yellow beaks and females come in three color morphs, barred, rufous and black. These birds have varying calls that range from low-frequency booms to high-pitched yips.
