Goodreads is a social network of reading lovers. Created in 2006 by Otis Chandler. Solves the problem of selecting interesting and useful books based on recommendations and feedback from others, the so-called "social cataloging."
On July 29, the Goodreads blog published a rating of the best sci-fi and fantasy books based on ratings and feedback from readers (there are over 50 million reviews on the service).
Methodology of rating compilation
At the heart of the rating are two factors - popularity and average score. The minimum average score for getting into the rating is 4 points out of 5. The books in the lists are sorted alphabetically.
