This is a typical "trulli" house found Alberobello, Apulia region, Italy.
They are whitewashed stone houses with conical roofs.
In the district of Rione Monti, at the top of a hill, we can admire more than a thousand of them.
We can also visit the interior of some of them, to see how they were living back then in these tiny houses.
According to legend, the counts of Conversano allowed the settlers to build dry stone dwellings (without mortar) in order to dismount them easily in case of royal inspection.
Indeed, Ferdinand I of Aragon, required the payment of a tax in case of construction of fixed dwellings.
I climbed on a roof to have a good view and admire the work closer.
