My open letter to my future husband...
Husbands, love your wives as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her. Eph. 5:23
My Love, you are given a tremendous task. You are supposed to be Jesus. Your love should remind me of Christ’s love. The longer life goes on, the more I should feel like I am married to Jesus. You should be so selfless that it reminds me of the cross. You should have such a high standard of purity that I never have reason to doubt my faithfulness. Just as I would never dream of being lied to by Jesus, I should be confident that you will never waver from the vow you will make to me. Though Jesus has already taken all of my sins on the cross, you still have a real responsibility. You are to love, lead, and sacrifice in such a way that it results in my sanctification. And the most loving thing you can do is to lead me to be closer to Jesus, to become more like Him.
