I've Gotten Back to My First Love, Reading

in reading •  7 years ago

Shared on my old account. I was read to as a child. My grandma instilled the love of reading in me. I was an avid reader for years. Then, I went through health issues & started working from home & socializing online. I was reading articles, blogs & posts online. I didn't want to be reading stories on my laptop as well. I would, occasionally, still read books.

I didn't want to get an e reader. I didn't feel I could cozy up to it the same as a paperback. 2 1/2 years ago, my husband & I bought our first smart phones. One thing I downloaded were some free e books. Though, not the same as a paperback, it was still more intimate than reading on my laptop.

A little over two years ago I bought my first Kindle. Eventually, I want to have a bookcase again, filled to the brim with paperbacks. Even more so, a whole room full of them. I must admit, I've found great pleasure in carrying around my own personal library, as it were. I'm glad that I've made my way back to my first love.

I'm reading eight different e books. Whenever I finish one, I'll put up a review here. My favorite genres are: inspirational true accounts, historical, mystery, suspense, thriller, true crime, adventure, horror, paranormal & fantasy. Which do you enjoy? Do you have a Kindle (or other e reader) or have you stuck with paperback/hardbound?

I'm not reading as much currently. I'm focusing on my writing. I'm collaborating on (I'm doing most of the writing) six series. I just published my first book. I still read a little at night. Though, lately, my down time has been spent playing solitaire on my phone.

That sounds amazing - I'll will look out for your book! I'm trying to read more and get off Steemit! Best of luck xx and thanks for your reply

Go to the link on my page & it has the link to the book. I'd appreciate you sharing. The proceeds will eventually go toward a house. Not just so my husband & I can have a place to truly call a home (we've been living in a studio for four years), but, so we can seriously get into rescue. We did save three kitties, but, it's difficult to do more in a small space like this.
